Our Jenison dentists at McMahon Family Dental use CEREC Same Day Crowns to create your dental crown in one day. CEREC eliminates the need for a temporary crown and a second appointment.
CEREC stands for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics. CEREC is digital technology we use to restore cracked and decayed teeth in a single visit to our office. A CEREC crown protects natural tooth structure so you can smile with confidence.
How does CEREC work?
First, our dentist will inject local anesthesia to numb your tooth. Once the anesthesia starts to work, our dentist will remove enough tooth structure so your dental crown will be able to fit over top. Next, your dentist will take digital dental impressions to create your ceramic crown.
Our office has its own milling machine, which means your dental crown will be made right under our roof. Since we don’t outsource dental crowns to off-site labs, you won’t have to deal with the hassle of wearing a temporary crown and waiting weeks for your permanent tooth restoration to be made.
The CEREC crown is made out of a block of ceramic before being polished or glazed to a natural shine. The tooth restoration is then bonded into place, creating a seamless fit with your natural dentition. Milled ceramic is stronger than the traditional method of layering and pressing. We pride ourselves in using quality name brand materials that are proven to last.
